4440 volt guage

hello

on my 4440 the volt guage shows its over charging, I have a new alternator on and check the output and its at 14.2 volts when its running, the guage is way over on the rh side in the orange

I have the same story about a 4630, instead of straight up in the green it's over in the red at 3 O'clock. I just drew some magic marker on it to show 12.5 resting voltage at the new place. I'm not spending a red cent on another fine piece of workmanship like the one I already have. You can buy a three dollar chinese digital one on eBay and wire it to the ignition if you want the truth told to you. Checking sporadically with DVM is good enough for me.
