I apparently am getting old and senile and lost the link to the wiring diagrams one of the members listed for me a while back. Could someone post them again. A friend wants me to look at the wiring on his 3020 diesel. I am not sure, but I think it may have been converted to 12 volts rather than the original 12/24 system, so I may get a big surprise trying to clean up the wiring.

If 3020 has been converted to 12 volts should be easy to determine by checking where negative cables attach because these 12v cables should be attached to tractor frame or better yet engine block. If tractor has an alternator it's more than likely has a 12 volt system as very few 24 volt systems had an alternator.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help.

I like working on old machinery, but health is catching up with me, and I am not sure I want to tangle with this The owner is a friend, plus being my Dr., and he says the wiring has been worked on by 3 different people, and looks like a rats nest. I am going over this afternoon to look at it for the first time and decide whether I want to tackle it or find someone more familiar with the John Deeres of it's age. If it were a 60 year old IH, I could about wire it blindfolded since that is what I grew up on and own 4 older than that. Age and arthritis make me have second thoughts about tackling this though.

Does anyone make a 12 volt wiring harness that I could use for this project if I need it.

Well, I guess I should not pay any more attention to what a Dr. tells me about a tractor than he should pay to what I tell him about medicine. His tractor is a 2630. Now I need to start over and find a diagram for it, because it appears that all the wiring has been removed or just hanging. I will even have to put new ends on the battery cables just to start it. The only wires behind the dash are on the key switch, none on light switch, gauges, etc. NOTHING. Hopefully I can persuade him to bring it over here, or to let me bring it over, it is only about 3 1/2 miles to my shop, which will make it much easier. That is assuming it and my red tractors do not get into a fight.
