John Deere 4010 Oil pump gear on early model

I have an early JD 4010 with 15 tooth cam and oil pump gear. Cam gear stripped, so replacing cam and oil pump gear. Does the 15 tooth gear mount like the 20 tooth (separate from hub that is pinned). I am having trouble pulling the gear.

Also will a 20 tooth gear fit the shaft from the 15 tooth oil pump? Or will I have to replace the shaft or whole pump? They are hard to come by.

Thanks.

If THIS is a diesel model the gear is press fit to the hub there is a key in the hub gas model as
i recall you replace the gear and shaft as one

It is a diesel, a very early one. Most had the 20 gear cam, but this one has the 15 gear. The shop manual shows the gear as pressed on, but after difficulty in getting it to budge (with heat), I was wondering if those early ones were different, more like the gas model?

Thanks for your reply.
