G Fuel valve

Fuel valve On my G has gotten so stiff that I can barely turn it off. I can turn it on from the operator seat but I can?t turn it off unless I get off and turn it at the valve. Deere says that the valve is obsolete. Is there something repairable? Any ideas would be appreciated.

The valve on my Model A John Was the same way. I tore it apart & cleaned.
Used an old leather belt to polish the brass sleeve/valve & reassemble & if it turns real easy it will Leak, I tighten the nut just enough where is doesn't leak & I can still turn the handle much easier. Over the year dirt
grit get worked into that tapper valve. I used a dremil with a Buffer tip
to refresh the inside with a little rubbing compound. I believe now it works as good as new.

Ferd,
Many short line vendors have those valves. Steiner, JD Parts for you, etc. Grab a copy of the 2-cylinder or green magazine. You'll see lots of people who carry them if you can't clean it up.
Good Luck! John
