820 w/ loader

I'm looking at an 820 with a loader. It seems to have been well taken care of. Owner has invoices showing $1600 worth of work on the transmission. The only concern are 1) bucket
hydraulic cylinder leaks with the line goes in, 2) tires don't have much tread left, and 3) it seems to have a pretty fast idle. I don't know much about diesels so I don't know if the idle is
that big of a deal.
I'm mostly interested because I want a front end loader. I have an 8N for general work around our property.
It's listed at 4750 and the owner is willing to negotiate a bit.
What do you think of this tractor and price?

pretty clumsey loader tractor. between the hand clutch and gear shift and valve levers you will be busy. they will idle slow with the throttle as you shut them down like that. not a good idea to leave idling slow. myself i would be checking oil pressure. more of a field tractor.

What make and model of loader are we talking about? What size tires are on it? Any good used that size in your area? I bought an old 70 with thin skin rear tires. Decided to bite the bullet and get new cause it is a worker not a parade/show. The tires from Titan cost me as much as I'd paid for the tractor. Check some tractor tire websites to get an idea the liability of the tires. The fast idle is probably normal if you are not used to a 2 cylinder diesel. I keep the idle on my 70 gas a bit fast so the alternator won't start using instead of making.

That's a lot of tractor to get a loader, but if you want it you want it--right?

It's a Deere loader but I didn't notice the model number. I have a Farmall SH with a loader, but I really don't like the tricycle style. I've convinced myself if I get a good loader tractor, I'll get rid of the SH.

Hydraulic pump is a mite small on those . Need some patience to wait for the loader to move. Still better than any N series for as a loader tractorHYDRAULIC PUMP (OPEN CENTER)

11 CM3 (0.67 IN.3)

Having no power steering is going to difficult to steer with very much weight in the bucket. Back when 820's were nearly new I converted a manual steer 820 to PS but I'll bet price of parts would be prohibitive today.
