JD 8300 Drill Clean-up

I recently bought a JD 8300 Grain Drill. It is in good shape but as you might think it was put up with grain still in it and was left out in the weather for who knows how long. I am in the process of soaking the chains , Shafts etc. with my favorite penetrating oil but not sure the best way to clean out the feed section.
I am planning on pressure washing as best as I can but then not sure which way to go. Manual says to use diesel fuel to soak down the workings when you store it but not sure this will do the job of freeing it up.

Also where beside Mother Deere is a good place to get parts? chains, seed tubes, bearings etc.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Might have to use plenty of "elbow grease". Maybe soak with water? Fluted or double run? If fluted, you can open the bottom of the seed cups and the stuff should run out with a little encouragement. Have a 20X8 double disk 8300. Good drill.

Mine is a double run , double disc grain only with grass boxes
my experience with Drills is limited but think this will work well for my needs.

Maybe a needle scaler, but use it with a light touch until you see what it will do. You don't want to deform the sheet metal.

Dust mask and ear plugs highly recommended...

Worked on it some today. It was not as bad as I thought. the crust was thin and worked away fairly easy.

Seems the latches and gates in the seed cups will be my toughest problem to free up.

Are the Double run feed cups rebuild-able ?

Thanks for everyone's help so far

Feed gates & latches are offered at $41.55 per feed opening.

That is not to bad and I do have a couple that are broken and all are frozen up so may need more. How do the cups come apart to replace them . I assume (bad word) that they would split in half and the moving parts inside could be cleaned and or repaired???

I looked at your info for Burrell Impl. and they don't seem to have a WEB site so I guess I will just have to call them.

Does anyone else have any sources for parts other than Deere

Does anyone that has experience with an 8300 grain only with grass box have time to allow me to call them and ask several operational questions? There are a few things in the Manual that just don't make scene with what I am seeing.

if you would allow me to call and talk leave me an e-mail please.
