ASABE? I was reading this months green magazine about how long a transmission will last according to the ASABE . I?ve heard of the society of ag engineers but what?s the b ?

The name of the organization changed from ASAE to ASABE sometime around 2005 but it was only a change in name - nothing that the group actually does is any different.

As bernieinva stated, the name of the organization is now the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. A co-worker was a graduate Agricultural Engineer and said his course work was essentially the same as Mechanical Engineering but with a lot of Plant Biology courses added. They needed to understand plant structure in order to design planting, cultivating, and harvesting equipment, apparently.

I guess that makes sense when I took ag
mechanics in college we had to take an intro to ag
engineering class that was a pretty interesting class
it was amazing the things you could figure out with
math formulas I wish I still had the text book from
that class I borrowed it to a friend and haven?t seen
the book since
