John Deere B fan shaft

Hello all, have a 1946 B was running it week ago and heard a noise. Noticed the fan and shaft was jumping forward. It was not constant but after a few revolutions it would jump. I do have a short video. When the engine wasn't running, there wasn't much play in the fan or bearings. Is this normal or is there an issue here? Thank you for your time.

# 1...how many YEARS since the front fanshaft bearing was greased..??

install a grease fitting and grease that bearing.....otherwise, you may have a problem with the drive gears back near the governor..

Best bet is probably to remove and did assemble the governor. Make sure the oil passage that sprays oil on the gears is open. Take the fanshaft apart and make sure the front bearing is free to float to keep tension on the shaft to take up play. Pack the front fanshaft bearing with grease before assembly. Double check gear mesh and put it together.
