4020 rear outlet pops hoses out

I have a 1966 4020 that routinely pops the hydraulic hose out of the SCV on the rear of the tractor. New tips on hoses, etc, it doesn't matter. Is this an indication that the barrel is worn out? I've found lots of posts about "rebuilding" these but people only mention Orings, where mine seems to have a mechanical issue actually holding the tip in.

Is this the time to convert to newer Pioneer style tips if the barrel needs replaced anyway?

Thanks!

There are a couple things to look at, 1 is the tension on the valve lever, the spring #23 can be weak,,and the E-clip #24 could be missing,,2 the lever could be worn in the area that I have circled and the notch where that area latches on the under side of the valve could be worn. and 3 the #33 could be worn or missing. If you would want to send it to me I can re-seal it with up graded seals and deal with the worn parts..

I guess I should have dropped it in the box with the 4630 steering column!

I'll take it off the tractor tomorrow, look it over, and give you a call.

It has been doing it for 10+ years. Grandpa tied a wire to the lever... But that isn't working anymore. It will pop out the hose end even though the lever doesn't kick open. Time to fix it. Loader is still through the remotes (until I get it switched to a jostick soon) so popping out hoses is pretty unhandy.

Thanks

May sure 35 is there, if I remember right 33 is just to hang the 38 assembly on when using the outlet. Also 35 subs to a different number which helps your problem and looks quite a bit different.

I have exact same issue on a 4320 with aftermarket ISO conversion; What can be the root cause? Thanks,

Once in awhile even on newer ones they can come unhooked and it can be hard to tell as there might be 5 sets of hoses.Yours is just worn and Tim S. can eliminate the problem.10 years is longer than most would have tolerated an aggravating problem.

The same basic thing,, the lever gets worn and they won't stay latched,, I'm sure you are supporting the hose tension with tarp straps like most of us do...that helps a lot..as the unit goes through the field a lot of motion is tugging on the hoses...
