John Deere 2440 fuel injector pump removal

I have a friend who need his injector pump removed so I can drive it to a repair shop out of town. He has a ranch hand who is pretty good with cars but is not confident working with the injector pump system of a tractor. I had a guy who knows what he is doing come out to evaluate whether or not the issue was actually the injector pump and he verified it was. He was going to do all the work of pulling it and putting it back on once it was repaired but he works out of town too much and we can't catch up with him. Before I asked him if he could do the work, I recall asking if the pump was a big deal to remove and he said no, just remember to make things so the get put back on the same way. My question is, is removing the pump complicated and detailed to a degree that someone who has no experience working on one should not attempt it despite knowing how to fix anything om a car? If not, are there any specifics he should watch out for? I'd love a tutorial for the John Deere 2440 if there is one.

Rotate engine to #1 cylinder TDC. Timing pin(key 6) on LH side of rear of engine once reversed & inserted in threaded hole will fit in depression in flywheel when timed correctly. When on # 1 TDC both rocker arms on frt cylinder next to fan should be loose. It wouldn't surprise me if a U-tube video isn't available for inj pump R&R

Thanks for the info. I had acually tried to find one on Youtube before making this post... will just about any on pump removal guide us fine or does it need to be one more specific to older John Deeres to show it correctly for the 2440?
