I'm looking to buy a JD 435 tractor--one I'm looking at the seller thinks may be from Mexico, the serial # is within the model year 1960 of those produced in the USA. I know they built just over 300 in Mexico but have read that they all were sent south of there, I suppose one could have drifted north, but does anyone know how to identify one short of getting a serial# research done?

I was under the impression that the serial number tag itself says made in Mexico for those that were. I've not, however, seen one myself.

I have a 435 that was made in Mexico. It says Made in Mexico on the tag and is one of the serial numbers reserved for Mexican made 435's. Haven't seen or heard of any others making it back north yet.
