If you have good fuel, good spark and a freshly rebuilt carb remember to check your intake stack for obstruction if your tractor still will not run right. All this was in the elbow.

BTDT and got the T Shirt. I've seen clogged air inlet piping and/or oil bath cleaners and bowls which causes them to run too rich and black soot fouls the plugs. They just cant breathe and draw air in for good carburetion and compression either grrrrrrrrrrr All around a BAD thing......

Congratulations you done good

This one would start up and run great for about a minute, then then it would start to hunt/surge, then it would only pop once every second or so before dying. I discovered the problem while it was doing that one time after I unscrewed the oil bath and tried to pull it off but there was a ridiculous amount of suction and i could barely get it to move. Once I did though the engine revved back up and ran just fine. Always a learning experience each different one I work on!
