I've never seen that before. Looks cool. Where did you find that picture? Is it an advertisement pamphlet or something?

Back in the middle 70's we doubled our 806 up like that to keep it from sinking into spring wheat/oat silage as it packed in a pit type silo. We had a wide front end and had no problems, a neighbor tried it on a 4010 and broke several spindles. In the JD's defense- he was mighty hard on any equipment!

Many farmers just abused the heck out of those new gens back then. We had a neighbor who bought a new 4010 and he was into the first "min-till" experimentation. He had a FULLY mounted 5-14" plow with two clod busters hauling behind it along with anhydrous tanks on both sides in front . That poor tractor had it's guts pulled out. It made a nice looking seedbed , altho would dry right out if little rain. He would pull right in and plant right after plowing and then spray everything once up. No round-up back then. Couldn't cultivate because of the ruts in the soft new plowed seed bed. Worked good on a wet year.

I've always thought about dualling up the front end of my 4020 but after I went to 1100.16 on the front it
floats on pretty much anything you need to be on .
