search for serial #

The Two Cylinder Club was able to provide me with the serial numbers of the last three Model H tractors shipped to the Nebraska dealer where Dad bought a new Model H a few months later. Of course, that was in November of 1941 and not many tractors were being shipped. With my brother's help we found one of those three tractors, but known markings, welds and modifications indicated that was not the tractor we were looking for. Mostly it was just the frame and block anyway. I placed ads in papers all over the state, placed ads on the internet too, but we never unearthed the two tractors with the other serial numbers. Good luck!

Thanks, leon Have old journal entry dated Oct. 20th 1938, bought new JD tractor and gives dealers name. I don't know if it had to be ordered or that was the date actually received. Have old photo taken in 1944 and picture shows tractor to be 1939 B. I was hoping there were real good records kept back then. Jim

If your parents were like mine, the journal probably indicates the date paid for, which would most likely have been delivery. If you're a member of the Two Cylinder Club, give them the dealer's name and date it was bought and like with me, they may be able to give serial numbers of the Model B's delivered to that dealer from the factory or branch house shortly before the sale. I'm sure the dealership has changed hands several times and any records of the '38 dealer's sales are now lost.

On much of that old stuff, Two Cylinder Club/Magazine has the records. I think they got them from Deere.
