Grabby Clutch

Someone post here recently about the clutch being grabby on their late B model.
I had the same problem, completely disassembled clutch, cleaned up everything,
all looked good, usable. New discs, etc.
Clutch was still grabby, then I discovered some belleville washers to put behind
the adjusting nuts, problem solved, about 10 years ago. Still good.

Clutch disengaged.. How much up & down play is any??
If the bearing or crank shaft & bushing are worn it can cause a Jumpy clutch.

Since the B's and 50,520 and 530's did not have a replaceable race on the crank shaft for the pulley bearing the crank would wear and cause a jumpy clutch. My nephews 50 had a badly worn crank,,I fixed it but if I shared how I did it I may get bared from the forum...it was an unusual and unique method..

I did that on mine about 7 yrs ago and like you said, it's a very smooth engaging clutch. Two finger operation and you could park front wheels on a dime on edge. Sure works great when backing up to wagon when your wife is holding the pin LOL

I have this feeling, you machined the crank shaft down to for a bearing with a Inside race purchased for Erie Brg Co.
Like I did , using gasoline power to do it Maybe?
