John Deere H shifter removal

Can anyone tell me how to remove the shifters on a 1941 JD H.

Look for the retainer on the left side of the main case. Loosen the square head screw and take it off the shaft. You can turn the shaft to compress the detent springs then pull it out and take the forks out the top. Don't let the plungers fall into the case. The slotted plug in the housing is threaded to adjust the side to side position of the shaft to align the gears when you reassemble.
