Need help JD 70 diesel Fuel System

Can anyone walk me through the fuel bleeding process on a John Deere 70 diesel? We?ve had this thing for almost 30 years and it?s never been ran out of fuel till today when I was cutting fire wood. I have a manual but it?s at my dads and I?d like to get it back to the house tomorrow. Thanks in advance for any help.

If I remember right there is a bleeder screw by each filter and one on the left (flywheel side) Bleed left filter 1st, right filter 2nd, left hand side of block last.

James: What is that extra plate for on top of the pump inspection cover ?
I think I have had some in the past that did not have the extra bleed screw on the side of the block.

Farmer Tech.

A previous owner installed four 6V coils to provide "spark" to each plug in the pony motor.

Can't say that I've ever run out of fuel, but have forgotten to open the valve on the fuel strainer a few times.

Good to hear your 70 is running again.
