2510 sheet metal

Can anyone tell me how close a 2510 sheet metal is to a 2010 I am building a 2010 pulling tractor and like the front of a 2510 better than mine but don?t want to have to buy all the metal just the front thanks

No where near the same. Before you're through you will like
the rear and middle of the 2510 better too.

Your one of the bravest men I have heard of!!!! LOL LOL Making a JD 2010 into a pulling tractor. Man you have BIG brass ones. LOL

2010 gas might hood together but I think it would be my last choice.

Completely different style of tractor.I am sure you have a reason but they get 4020s down to the lower weight classes plus the 404 or bigger is capable of producing plenty of power plus has a good power train.

CasePuller, you asked many questions about 2010 repower. Did you end up putting a 6 cylinders from a combine on it? That's about the only way to make some sort of power on those tractors without breaking the motor.
As far as your original question. Putting a front plate of a 2510 on a 2010 will reduce the screen area for the screens to 0 and your tractor will greatly overheat.

Yes I put a 303 out of a 95 combine

Are you sure it is not a 268?
I would be afraid to put those 18.4-38 on it. This is going to stress the rear end and tranny a lot more + added power for the engine. Maybe 18.4-30 or 23.1-26 would be better?

I meant, are you sure it is a 303 and not an HA248? This one looks like an HA block and not a 300 series. Is it a Diesel or a gasser?
Was the transformation from 4 cylinders to 6 easy? It seems like an interesting project. Maybe if you could make it look original except for the longer hood it would be a nice piece. But I think that with those tires, you are going to have some proportion issues.

The tag on the side of the engine says it?s a 303 as far as the
rear end and transmission goes all of that has been gutted
and billit gears with needle bearings put back in also added a
pressure lube system to keep everything oiled well. That hood
that is in the picture is a 2010 factory hood and once all the
fan and water pump and belts are taken off the front of the
engine and I get my frame fabricated up every thing should fit
under there nicely. As far as the 4 to 6 cylinder conversion
goes it was as simple as bolting the new engine to the bell
housing. The engine is factory naturally aspirated gas but will
be turbocharged on alcoholwhen completed. I bought 2 of
these engines at the same time and have one at the machine
shop and using this one for building the tractor. I?m learning all
of this as I go so can?t say what I?ll have other than a money
pit when I?m done lol but I hope I have solved most of the
transmission and rear end issues with the 2010 and I know my
engine will be right when it come back from the machine shop
