Swing cylinder removal

John Deere 410 back hoe - need to remove the swing cylinder. Unsure of the age of this tractor but guess 1975 or earlier. The swing cylinder seems to have a taper lock on the cylinder mounting pins. What is the proper procedure to remove this cylinder?

I don't know if you got an answer yet, I could find any good info either. I removed mine yesterday. After a lot of trial and error I finally got them out. I wish I would have known how easy it is before I beat up the pins so bad. So I will share my experience.

I placed a bottle Jack in between the two pins and pressed the top one up. Then I put a large socket on top of the lower pin and put the jack on top of the socket. I placed a thick piece of flat steel between the top of the jack and the top pin hole. Then pressed it down. Of course I was supporting the arm before I removed the pins.

I hope this can help someone else to save time and money. This is the first time I've seen these tapered type barrel pins. The whole process took all of 5 minutes after beating heating and cussing for previous two hours. Good luck

I posted this for my brother and he never did get the cylinder out. He ended up just pulling the piston and packing gland repacking then reassembled.
I will pass on your experience to him, thanks
