I just got my '46 John Deere A Slant Dash a couple of weeks ago. It's in great shape except for some minor wear problems. I thought the radiator cap flange was gonna be a bear to replace but that went very well, didn't even have to remove the hood. I thought the clutch brake assembly would be easy to remove but it's turning out to be a bear. I need these things disassembled so I can repair a lot of slop in everything. I got the clutch lever and all the linkages disconnected (not easy)and took the 4 bolts out of the clutch fork housing (John Deere calls it the fork bearing). I thought it would come right out. It seems the fork and collar assembly are attached to the disk (the thing between the two facings. Do I have to disassemble the clutch assembly to get the fork off the disk? Thanks
