M manual

I noticed on this site that they sell the M service manual that has one version I&T which is 80 pages and a reprint of the original service manual that is 320 pages.

In this case is more better? I have a 52 MT that I'm getting a plan together.

I would only buy the JD manual. I was never inpressed with the IT manuals. You can find used one son ebay or buy new ones from Deere. I perfer the PDF file (CD) as I can print as many off as I need and not to worry about getting a page all greasy....

You will need the M series manual as well as the MT series manual as this covers what si exclusive to the MT.

From what I've seen the I&T manuals are geared more towards an experienced mechanic to point him in
the right direction when working on a tractor model he's not familiar with. I purchased one when I
needed to split my Farmall 350 to replace the TA clutch and it was fine for what I needed. It
didn't spell out step-by-step how to do everything. A single sentence like "remove the ____" might
be several paragraphs along with some pictures in a dedicated OEM service manual. Some would say
the I&T manuals are completely worthless which I certainly don't agree with but it is a fact that
they don't have anywhere near the information as the OEM manual.

Yes the Deere manual is much better and you will need at least the two mentioned. There are some instances where you are referred to the sm2000 manual and some where you
are referred to the 40 manual. You can get by without either of the last two. The IT will get you by if you are an experienced mechanic.

Woulden't swear to it but I'm pretty sure the reprints don't have the colorized flow charts. You have to get an origonal paper manual for those. The cd doesn't have them
either.

I found a seller on eBay that had the M & MT for 12 dollars on a CD.

You got lucky! Awfull lot of work scanning all those pages for 12 bucks. And before someone jumps in and tells you you bought an illegal copy - you didn't. The orig's
were not copyrighted. I have them all. The Deere cd is copyrighted.
