And nobody realized today is the 100th anniversary of JD buying the Waterloo company. Wonder what would have happened if JD didn't ditch the Dain in favor the Waterloo Boy.

John deere probably wouldn't have made it . the dain was a better machine but cost would be 1200.00 versus about 7 for the Waterloo boy .

Not forgotten. WHO Radio Des Moines covered it quite well over the noon hour. The deal was made the 13th but the final check was dated the 14th. Money had been wired to Waterloo Gas Co on the 13th and the balance was sent by check the 14th.
