Hi guys, would anyone happen to have a flat rate manual to help w this question - hours for engine inspection teardown (spun bearings) and a RR after with a replacement engine? Want to make sure quote is reasonable. Open station w/o loader...

Thx - PM

No flat rate manual for older tractor repairs. Only "flat rate" manual would have been for warranty
work when the tractor was new. To many variables on an old tractor....rusted bolts, farmerized
repairs, parts welded in place etc. Shop may have a general idea of how long it will take, but you will
pay for the actual time the mechanic took to do the inspection, and engine swap, if he can do it in 4
hours you pay 4 hours shop rate, if he runs into problems, and takes 10 hours you pay 10 hours shop
rate, plus what ever misc parts needed and not on the quote, ie clutch is worn or damaged, found a leak
on the trans input shaft, or hyd pump couplers were bad or pump leaking.......

Ya, got it & thx. Friend is trying to make sure his bill to another party isn't crazy considering the work he needed to do. Some of the same types of things, removing cam housing w twisted bolts to re-locate tach drive (replacement motor was industrial), bellhousing, etc. He cares about being fair and we can all do things faster or slower, never easy on an older machine.

Thx everyone- PM
