Have a 65 3020 gas with just over 2500 original hours on it. It is a synchro-range, dual remote with factory wide front. It has a Hiniker cab with heater. I have owned it for the last 15 years. Everything works on this tractor. It has never been repainted and all of the sheet metal is good as well as the paint except for a ding in the front of the hood. All of the gauges and tach look original. It still has the foam under the hood and also under the clutch cover. I am very confident that the hours are correct by the looks of the wear on the pedals and drawbar. Was wondering what the value might be and what else to look for to verify the hours.

There have been a number of posts recently on the value of 3010 thru 4020 gassers. Most seem to float around the $4-6000 range. You did not comment on tire condition and size. I am sure others more qualified than I will opine on what else to look for in order to confirm your stance that the 2,500 hours are real. Lets just do some simple math tho....you purchased the 3020 in 2003 when it was 38 years old. If you put only 4 hours a month on it, thats 720 of your hours. Seems almost unrealistically low. Maybe you know exactly how many hours you have put on it in the past 15 years. Anyway, in my example, for THE PREVIOUS 38 YEARS before you bought the 3020, it would have averaged that same amount of hours per month (4), to get to your 2,500 hours on the tach for a 53 year old tractor. Possible? Yes. Probable, no. That said, if you properly advertised it and could someway, somehow get someone comfortable that the hours were ok, you could probably get a nice price out of it from some guy wanting to convert it to a diesel. Sounds like a low-houred original to me, and Larryanderson will be the first one to tell you that those command a premium.

The cab and the ding in the hood take it from a $6,000 tractor to a $4,000 pretty quick. Hours don't mean as much as condition. I'd rather have a 10,000 hour tractor somebody took meticulous care of then a 2,500 hour tractor somebody didn't really care about because they didn't put any hours on it. Just my 2 cents.
