So I have weak brakes on this 430. Parking brake locks will not hold the tractor either. We pulled the right final drive and find that the brake pad discs are still thick, maybe 1/8 in less than new pads.
Any ideas why the brakes were weak? There is a bolt that attaches to the brake assemby linkage thru the pedal, it has a cone type nut like a lugnut. If I tightened that nut to bring the pedal up more would that also give a firmer brake engagement, or does that nut just change the position of the pedal?
Also the inner axle seal, the one on the differential side of the quill tore pulling the axle out. Looks like it is john deere part AM253T. Can I use a national 471192? That seems closest but cant find a cross reference.
Thanks guys
