Another 4020 brake valve question

So I finally got around to working on the valve. So my next question is how do I get the little paper backup washer in the Manuel plunger without destroying it?

Just soak it in oil then work with it, it will become pliable.

That's what I was thinking but it's been 20+ years since I done one. Do you put it in then the o ring or other way around? I

Paper washer first, so there's more room to tuck it in without tearing it.

Then the O-ring, on the pressure side of the paper washer.
