Need your help. There is an original 69 4020LP syngro 1 scv no dif lock excellent Firestone 34in rear tires paint faded suppose to run fine had 158 loader so W.F. is stressed .JD dealer wants offer fenders good .Not really rare about like gas 4020 only you would have a fuel tank and hood. with gasser Value? Thanks

Tell the dealer to read on here how awful 4020 gas tractors are and they are only worth scrap value to install a diesel engine in.
Then hit him with an offer above scrap price.

I was thinking $3000 but don't want parts tractors around.Fenders are worth 500, wide front 800 ,deck 200, scv 500, wheels and tires at least 1000 look like new Firestone ,Rock shaft covers 200 you've got your $3000 but then it gets a lot tougher as there are no weights or 3rd link.Probably not worth the hassle.

Tractor data lumps the production numbers from early and late 4020 l.p. all together, but there were a lot less l.p. models once they switched to side consoles. It runs in my mind that it was few enough that they'd be collectable. I would try to find out how many there were before you pass.

That said, I would want a diesel! But I'm not a collector.

There were 836 LP gas side counsel 69/72 4020 made vs 842 gases. There were only 3 high crop LP.I heard of a LPgas 4020 power shift with HFWA a few years ago.It was at a resort and people had no idea what they had but ended up bringing about 5X what they thought. Going back to 64/68 there were 7215 gassers,7155LPs in row crop vs 96K diesel row crop.Power shift number not known. So really not that rare The 1 0f 1 tractors are High Crop 3020 1 64/68 and 1 69/72 and also and 1 2520 gas P.S. hi Crop.I think I will pass as even though not rare I still prefer diesel 2520/4320s. Seems like the LP P.S.HFWA brought $26K in unrestored condition.I only saw a picture of it as I wasn't that excited. The front raised tank wasn't that desirable although it seems the smaller ones[3010/3020 had regular hood.Minneapolis put the tank elsewhere witch looked better.Problem if you put a diesel in it a nice 4020 hood will bring $1000 .There were no 2510 or 2520LPs.

Yeah I see now. Last night I searched through the archives here a little and saw past discussions on how "rare" they were. I must have been remembering discussions on here from years past. But I saw the same thing you just said about production numbers.

It is an ugly tank. Like an afterthought.

What was the dealers original asking price? If it was $4,000 or $14,000 will tell you a lot about what he might let it go for.

I would think a console 4020 LPG would be collectable. The dealer may be fishing for a range of high offers before setting an asking price rather than trying to quickly dispose of the tractor.

8850 Dave[My bad] I actually have never seen a 3010/3020LP around. Some tell me the oil stays clean and except for filling the tank they work better than gas .Looks like about 10% in 3010 line and less% in 64/68 3020 and only 126 side counsel.I agree the tank placement wasn't a great idea. The IH tractor really had an ugly set up.Our forklift is LP and nice to not have gas fumes inside.LP is one of the cleanest fuels and is usually much cheaper than gas.
