2000 John Deere Gator 6x4

I have a 2000 Gator 6x4 with gas engine. The fuel level gauge has stopped working and I can't find a part number to search for a replacement. Anyone have a good current number?

(quoted from post at 17:19:49 02/18/18) Are you sure it's the gauge??
The gauge doen't move when gas is added to the tank so I figured that was a good indication that the gauge was not working. That is the test described in the tech manuals for the gators. What else could it be. The gauge is float operated and is separate from everything else.

Pull it and fix it will be the easiest way back to a working gauge. Even if that means taking the gas tank out to shake the loose parts out of it.

These types of gauges fall apart and quit working all the time because they are not built to last with cross drilled and pinned supports. You'll have to do that extra engineering yourself and on your dime.

And new one is just going to fall apart too. Unless you cross drill those support rods and pin them so it can't with a baby roll pin.

You got all the parts already, nothing wrong with it except it fell apart inside your tank. Should shake the parts out of the tank anyway so very labor intensive already.

But if you want new go here

type in Gator and select yours, drill down and choose wisely. Too many options I can't possibly know a thing about from here, but you do - so you get to do it.

I had one that quit working as well, but you could read the guage nice and clear.
i shined a flash light into the gas tank after sucking out the gas and found out the
plastic float had got gummed up and stuck.
i stuck a steel skinny rod inside and was able to bump the float enough that it dislodged and
sank to the bottom.
seems to work now as it should and use to.
just something to try before you spend alot of $$ and waist some of your very valuable time.

This sure seems like the best long term fix. The replacement parts are expensive. Thanks for sharing your experience.

If the assembly is not in the bottom of the tank as suggested earlier, this would be a good thing to explore. I was wondering if this might be a possibility since it happened rather sudden. Thanks for your help.
