I have a 3010 with a synchro trans it seems to have 3 or 4 forward gears over on the left side where newtral should be, but when you shift it to the right and try to hit the gears where they should be it powers down the engine and wants to kill off, it also does this in the park position, so I have no park and no reverse and only 3 or 4 forward gears, is this a normal problem? I see no talk on this subject, I was under the impression these syncro trans were about bulletproof so honestly didn't look at it much when I bought it as is where is..I'll still use it, but it's gonna be tough to hook up equipment.

They aren't "bulletproof" and your post isn't real clear, I'm gonna toss one thing out here... I hope it hasn't been "towed".

Quit running it. You more than likely have trouble in the shifter drum right under the shifter lever. It could be as simple as the cross shaft is lose and allowed the drums to separate. Even just a pin out of the drum latch. Several simple things can do this but QUIT using it!!!!! The pulling down is the tractor being in two gears at the same time. You can easily break some thing doing that. Right now your troubles are not too costly to fix. If you break a gear or internal parts your going to be splitting the tractor and spending lots of money.

Even a well used 55 year old bullet proof vest will give out,,,you have a gaulded top shaft gear, and it will need split...and yes it sounds like it was towed in gear...

This. DO NOT KEEP USING IT! If you want to spend 3x the money to fix it then go ahead. It was most likely towed in gear. Pull it apart and fix it. It's not to expensive right now.
