Could this be the serial number for this B? PCV 81814. It was not where my research told me it would be. If so, can you help me find the year? Thanks.

That is the serial number for the powr trol

Tractor serial tag is on the engine, or should be...

No.

This is the serial number for the POWR-TROL housing.

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]POWR-TROL HOUSING VALVE HOUSING[/b:654c4848f0] diagram below.

Note the housing (Key 39).

The best method of determining the year model is the tractor's serial number.

The serial number is located on the right side of the tractor on top of the main case.

Take a look at the photo below of the location of the serial number on "Uncle Earl" our 39B.

Record the tractor's serial number and compare it to the table below.

Hope this helps.

Please provide the following photos of your tractor:

It?s either a ?39 or ?40. http://www.retiredtractors.com/Modelb.html Six forward speeds were not introduced until ?41 and from your pictures it looks like you have 4. Styled B?s began production in June ?38. Hope this helps.

If one could assume that powertrol numbers paralleled tractor serial numbers, then your powertrol # is 33366 less than my 1950 "B" (115180 )which has a sn of 270549 which would make your s/n around 237183 which would make it a 1948 which means it would have the single stick 6 spd shifter and stamped/styled steel frame, round axle housings and square box seat with cussion.

That sounds exactly like the pictures I posted below. So I will use that as an "I think" number when I post it for sale. Thank you! Any ideas on the value? or where to go for the value?
Thank You!
