My buddy bought a 52 A serval years ago from a guy that has lots of tractors and parts. When he bought it and had a fresh paint job on it. He sent the SN in to Two Cyl and the build date was November 51 and his SN falls into the 52 year. Now what has me puzzled it has the single square hole in the frame for the block nuts. Its a single stick and has square axel tubes. I know the later A models had the 2 square holes in the frame per side for the block nuts. Im wondering if its a 50 model with the earlier block on it and maybe the guy he bought it off of put a 52 model tag on it. He might of pieced a tractor together or something. The guy that he bought off of said its never been touched all original with a new paint job. Something don't add up.

Serial # would have to be 700199^up to have come from factory with AA5573R frame, 2 square holes in side on frame.. At Waterloo factory most yrs.; model yr. changed in Sept.; Built date in Nov. 51' would most likely carry a 52' serial tag...

Deere came out with the later A starting with the 1950 model it had the late block witch had in the eight bolts to hold it to the crankcase this made it necessary to put the extra hole in the frame in the 1950 year and later. some body has changed the frame to an older tractor serial 3642245 and older

Those frames were known to crack in certain situations, like with a loader or other heavy mounted equipment. So it is very possible it was swapped a long time ago. This is a reason the 60s and 70s went back to cast front frames.

That would be serial# 700200 an up that change was due the the factory installed water pump. The models from serial #700199 an back fit tractors models 1950 an 51 an 52 up to 700200

That's probably what happened is they changed the frame out on it. The guy he got it off of was a salvage man. I know it didn't look right with 1 hole and should of had 2 per side.
