It is a gas tractor and it is at an auction that will take place on 2/20. I think since it is a 3010, I am going stay away from it.

I'm with Mike,,stay away from it...there will be a couple people there that will not know the issues that come with a 3010 gas, and most likely they will make it bring more than it's worth..just my thoughts...

I'd stay more away from it since it is an auction tractor more so than it being a 3010. I would not have a problem buying a 3010 or 4010 from an individual in my local area that has a good reputation for taking care of their machinery. Plus you can actually take them for a test run and even work them beforehand.

That's a diesel isn't it ? Hard to tell on my computer. If it is that will make several on here happy for you if you buy it !

Look at rear pto; is the stub shaft bolted on with four cap-screws? If yes; a 3010......

By much improved PTO, in what way? Since the only pto work I would use this for is bush hogging or a small manure spreader, then would the improved 3020 pto really make that big a difference for what I want to do?

My 3020 pto lever is on the left side, but it is also a right console hydraulic lever model.

What other distinctions are there between a 3010 and a 3020?

No diff lock on a 3010, only available on 3020's.

If you plan on plowing with the tractor the diff lock Really helps traction, I used diff lock a LOT when plowing. Really missed it on Dad's 4010.

How much difference between a 3010 and 3020? Can you convert a 3010 to a 3020 by changing the sleeves and pistons like you can with a 4010 to 4020?

The system that shifts the pto from 540 to 1000 rpm can be a problem on a 3010. If you know what to look for and keep track of it I don't see it as a problem. Is that gas or diesel?
