49 G fan bearing

I just bought a G and I noticed there is a plug on top of the fan shaft does this need to be lubed or does it self lube with the engine oil?

Every so often you are to pump some grease into there. Don't get too carried away though.

I drilled a 3/16 inch hole in the plug and pressed in a grease fitting. Drill another small hole beside the 3/16 inch hole to relieve pressure. Just give it a pump stroke every 7.5 months or 50 or 40 hours is good. Have done this to the two "A's" and the "G".
