JD430 ground cable keeps corroding

Anyone know how I can prevent the ground cable from corroding on a 430 two cylinder? It is the original 6 volt positive ground. This time it is corroding where the ground strap was touching the side panel of the battery box. I keep replacing these ground cables and they corrode up in a few months.

Did you change batteries or check charging voltage?

I would assume it is boiling chemicals out.

Wash with a mixture of baking soda and water with nylon brush, coat with coat with grease or appropriate spray. REMOVE AND CLEAN CONNECTION 1ST.

Overcharging caused by bad battery or poor ground. There are two way's to fix it. A longer ground 0 or 00 cable going directly to the starter or raise up the dash and
sand the base and then apply dielectric compound to the base before tightening it back down. You'll need to sand and apply dielectric compound to the point where you
attach the cable as well. First option is easier but second option keeps it origonal and functions as good as new. I use the second method even though it is a good bit
more work.
