I have a mt that's very slow to pick up the farm hand loader on it. It has good power to pick up dirt and things and it will lower fast just slow going up for like plowing snow. Is there a relief or restrictor valve on some where to make it slow. It will pick things up heavy that the front tires will go flat if u r not care ful. Thanks for any help on this.

You have to remember it's a relatively low pressure/volume system so it's going to be slow. There is a pressure adjustment in the tom unit under the seat. If i'm not mistaken 860 psi is the maximum pressure at the test port. You'll need the mt service manual & mabie the 40 manual as well to correctly adjust it.

Yes.

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]TOUCH-O-MATIC CHECK VALVE HOUSING ASSEMBLY[/b:654c4848f0] diagram below.

Note the Relief Valve (Key 9).

Also note the Lock Screw (Key 6), Adjusting Screw (Key 4), and Spring (Key 7),

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]Touch-O-Matic Relief Valve Operation[/b:654c4848f0] illustration below.

Note the relief valve 19 is open open allowing oil to return to the reservoir.

The relief valve must be closed in order for the drawbar arms to raise.

You might consider reviewing the [b:654c4848f0]Adjust Pressure of Touch-O-Matic System[/b:654c4848f0] topic on page 180-15-13 in the service manual.

Removing the lock screw and turning the adjusting screw in (clockwise) will tighten the spring tension on the relief valve, but please read the above mentioned topic first.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the help on this heres another question on this iv been running hydraulic oil in it and one guy tells me that I need to run straight 30 weight oil in there for it to work right. Iv been running the hyd oil because of the cold weather and its lighter then the oil. The guy that told me to run hyd oil in there told me that u don't want motor oil in there because when the oil is compress with the rams that the oil will make air in the system and the hyd don't. What do u think guys I should do thanks.

NON detergent motor oil won't foam. Regular motor oil has detergent's that will. Most hyd oil is the same visc as 20wt. Your MT came from the factory with 10wt non detergent oil in the TOM. I think 20wt or 30wt non detergent oil works better and leaks less in these old tractors. I use 30wt in mine now a day's cause 20wt has got hard to find. Hyd oil leaks more but if it's already in there and doing ok i'd leave it alone. If the pump and TOM haven't been resealed you will be doing that sooner rather than later.

Note that the operator's manual recommends SAE 10W oil.

We use 10W oil in the Touch-O-Matics of our MTs, M, and 40s.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info I forgot to tell you guys that this mt has two levers on it. One is for the back arms and the other runs the front loader that has a hyd quick cupler on the front of the unit that the levers r on. There is a pump on the motor that is just under the generator. Thank again fells.
