JD "D" fuel tank bracket, same bracket two styles

I have these two gas tank brackets, they are the same size but I've only seen the top one on any tractors I've seen and listed in any parts books. Whats up with the one shown in the bottom of the photo? Just curious.

That bottom one reminds me of one that was on the 1927D I had for awhile ?

The top bracket is for the front of the tank and some one has welded a bracket on to it. It bolts on with one bolt. The bottom bracket is for the rear of the tank and bolts on the the gov. housing with two bolts. The front bracket should have the wooden blocks on each side to hold the plug wires. I just finished putting one together last week. gcm.

I see the top bracket in above photo is part number AD544 and the bottom bracket is the one that mounts to the governor housing but I don't see that style listed in the parts book
