I have went through this trans this time last year and replaced all bearings but the right lower counter shaft bearing, and the 2 needle bearings under the idler gear and they were good. Replaced the 2 differential bearings. This time around Got a used input shaft, countershaft with gears changed the idler gear, input shaft and the pinion gear. Just by turning it by hand I think it's going to be just as noisy as it was. When u turn it backwards it is quieter. Pretty sure it's just the gears making noise. Can i drive the rivets out and turn the ring gear around thinking that is some of the noise. But the input shaft and idler gear are just as noisy as the old ones. I was running GL1 140 gear oil wonder if Lucas would help with noise, not so loud In the low side but the higher gear the louder it gets. In hi range 6th gear it's louder the engine. And I have heard them not make any noise so I know I can if the pocket book holds out......
