i have no mark on the tractor side to time a jd 70 rollamatic.i have a mark on the spindle . this is right side , looking forward, sitting on the tractor any help

Are you timing the teeth on the spindles ? Or trying to bolt the front end onto the tractor ?

Spindle teeth have poc marks on them. Once together both sides should have the same up and down travel. To bolt it to tractor turn steering wheel from lock to lock counting turns. Go back half way. Then attach frt end with trailing arms on the spindles to the rear of the tractor.

I just put a 50 rollomatic back together today. There should be a punch mark on the inside edge of a rollomatic tooth on the left, and a punch mark on the inside edge of a valley on the right. You can double check by measuring full up of the wheel spindle on each side to verify that they are the same. I "think" that if you get it out of time, one side won't go up to the stop cast into the outside of the housing. More knowledgeable folks on here can tell you if that theory is correct or false.

As you have read there are timing marks on the gear teeth and once timed each arm should have enough movement to hit the cast stops on the rollomatic casting.
