John Deere 40U Seat Options

Good day!

The seat & backrest on our '54 40U are in rough shape so I'm in the market for replacements.

Any recommendations on the various offerings that are available from the aftermarket companies? I.E. quality / fit & finish, comfort, etc.

the company a&i make a good quality black or yellow set with a nice little vent on each side of the seat cushion, i believe its brass in color.
makes it nice when you flop yourself down after finally mounting the tractor.
i have had good luck with them.
they are just normal seat foam.
now if you want the original spring style Stiener i believe carries the original, they are more pricy and alot firmer, and higher ride.
my 2 cents worth.

Sitting a little higher would be welcome for my longer than average legs but not sure the trade off with the stiff support of the old school springs will pay. LOL

I guess anything will be better that what I've got now. The wood backing on the seat bottom is deteriorated to the point that I'm sitting on top of the TOM filler cap. That's more than just a pea under the mattress. LOL
