Spitting Oil

When I start my '37 JD A, especially if it has been sitting awhile, it blows out wet oil through the petcocks? Is this normal? Harmful? Are the oil rings shot on the pistons?

Thanks,
Robert

My 1949 B has the same symptoms. Occasional but moderate use and spits from petcocks when starting. Have used it for years this
way, and no problems. Cost of repairing problem very likely exceeds any benefit.

Ok, I see. It's just on starting for mine too.
