John Deere 510C Transmission Problems

Hows it goin,
Have a JD510C backhoe that suddenly started having transmission issues. Its an 8 speed powershift. It shifts through all the gears, but moves only in first and second and will barely/not go up any incline. When in 3rd and above, it does not move at all and feels like it is slipping. In reverse the tractor barely moves. These issues seemed to begin happening all of a sudden, did not see it coming.
I replaced all transmission filters and cleaned out sump screen and it did not fix the problem. Was advised that its probably the clutches and they should be replaced but after reading another thread it seems like they may not be the issue.
Has anyone seen this issue before? Any recommendations or help would be greatly appreciated

Your transmission is the same as a 3020 power shift,,it does have a dry clutch that can fail, and cause slippage through all the speeds, here is a chart to give you an idea of what elements are engaging in each speed,,3 elements are used in each of the speeds..start out in each gear making it pull a bit by applying the brake pedal..mark down which gear seems to fail, then look over the chart and see which element is needed in the gears that are failing..

Check your inching pedal to make sure it is coming all the way up. Sometimes the linkage gets corroded, blocked with dirt or a stick and won't allow the pedal to come all the way up. Also check the linkage for broken/bent parts or missing roll pins. It doesn't take much lack of travel in the inching pedal to dump all or part of the apply oil pressure, a pedal not returning fully will give you the symptoms you describe
