new to form first question, what and where is the shaft, nothing with that name in my parts book.

"First reduction" refers to the geartrain at the RH end of the crankshaft, the drive gear on the clutch pulley, and the driven gear on the upper transmission shaft.

Transmission is of a bit different design than the older/smaller tractors, with the upper transmission shaft being one piece, I'd say that's the closest you'll come to finding a "first reduction shaft" in an "820".

IIRC those books call it an input shaft ?
