Guessing it is a straight 350, 1966 numbers are 16184 thru 42484. C and B numbers are much higher. Your best bet is to go to the JD crawlers Message Board and post their, it's run by Lavoy, he post here as well and my be along..

Thanks Jo Bird I will do that.
Also would like to add that my 350 does have a Manuel clutch.

Thanks

350C would have hydraulic-powered wet steering clutches.

If it has a hydraulic-reverser (most do and all Cs do), look to where the Forward-Reverse shifter is. If on the dashboard, it
is an early 350. If on the left arm-rest area - it is a B.

How do you know it has a "manual" clutch? There will be a clutch pedal regardless if it has a mechanical clutch or a
hydraulic reverser instead.

Some photos. Do you have the engine sleeves out yet? That is what the major difference is between old and newer blocks.

Thanks for your reply JDEM I have the clutch out and have already had it rebuilt and had the pressure plate and fly wheel (milled) turned down. This engine does have sleeves.
The left arm rest handle operates the blade the right arm handle operates the winch. I noticed on the right arm rest their is a handle missing I can look down into the round hole slot where where they use
to be a handle. This dozer does have reverse on the gear shifter.

Yes, I see what you mean. Mechanical clutch means no reverser. I had a friend who bought a 350 dozer new in 1965 with a mechanical clutch and a mechanical 6 way blade. That model was called a "logger special." If I were to buy a 350 today - I would much rather have one with no reverser to worry about - like you have. I think you have the early engine that originally only had one seal per sleeve. It gets rebuilt with an upgrade kit that puts three seals per sleeve.

Yes that is correct the rebuilt kit has three seals on the bottom of the sleeves.

Would you say that my machine is a B model ?
I am thinking that it was made around 1965 what do you think ?

Yes - 1965 or 1966. Cannot be a B. Early B would have one seal on the sleeve and two in the block and be the 152 engine. Late B the same except with the larger 164 engine.
