4020 Head Gasket Install Problem

I'm finishing up an overhaul on a 4020 and am having trouble with the head gasket. With the gasket installed correctly, the metal inserts in the head gasket do not line up well with the cylinder sleeves (see attached) The metal inserts still fit over the raised portion of the sleeve so maybe not a problem, but it still bothers me. The alignment is better on the front cylinders than it is on the rear and the alignment is good front to back. The serial number is 80,xxx. Its a gas 340cid. Block number R33170R and the gasket is R45615. I could grind a little from the alignment pin hole to get the gasket centered but I would rather understand what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See if any of these numbers are on the cylinder head, they are for the -200,xxx engine which might mean that somehow the newer engine got sneaked in there on you.

I would not attempt to put that together with that gasket. Something smells rotten in Denmark.
