M won't idle

When I move the throttle lever to idle position, engine will idle fine for about 10-15 seconds, then gradually slow to the point it will die unless I "goose" it. The guy I bought the tractor from had re-built the carb, and I assumed that he did not do a good job of cleaning all the passages, particularly in the idle circuit. I tore into it yesterday and jets and passageways seem open, as nearly as I can tell. Am I overlooking something other than clogged passageways? Any suggestions on re-cleaning those tiny passageways?
Thank you.
John

Is the idle orifice jet present in the throttle body?
It's a 10-32 screw size that passes fuel on up to the two small holes by the throttle blade.
Might cause your problem if it is missing or been drilled out.
It suppose to have a tiny hole in it not much bigger than tag wire.
