JD Garden Seed Planter

I am looking to find out if anyone on here has any knowledge of the John Deere Garden Seed Planter as I have one which I found just a few minutes away from my house. I have never seen another one like it and cannot find any pics or info in any old parts or sales books I have looked at.

Sounds like you are talking about a number 33 planter. They are a small plate style planter designed to handle small vegetable seeds. Designed to be setup on a toolbar, we have one setup on 4 rows for direct seeding.

This is a walk behind planter with handles not to be pulled behind hoses just a garden seed planter that you push forward

I saw a antique john deere mansur wood handle garden seeder at the last two cylinder show. Had a small coffee can size seed can with a tin lid which was embossed with Deere Mansur logo. very cool piece. I had never seen one before, it was in good shape, not restored, but the owner wanted what I thought was a high price for it so I passed. I did do some research later and found and old advertisement or it

I got mine out of the shed and it is as you describe Deere and Mansur about a 4" seed box and a handle on the left handle to release the drive so planter will free wheel. I found this about 6 miles from my house 15 years ago. What did the one at the GOG WANT FOR HIS ?? I will never sell mine either just a neat piece.

8850dave, the one for sale at the expo was 1200.00. I am not sure if it sold or not. I have been collecting jd memorabilia for 30yr and had never seen one before. Also at the show I ran across a friend of mine that I consider one of the experts in collecting deere mem. and he thought it was priced high. It was in original fair condition, no paint etc.
