Was an R ever offered with a factory delete?..or an aftermarket delete plate?

Yes. I have a 1951 with factory delete PTO and Hydraulics. I also have an extra factory flat back plate for a R (also fits 80, 820, 830) JD. Hydraulics and PTO were about the only options available for an R, except tire size and the pull start for the pony motor.

The PTO was an option if that’s what you mean. But you would also lose the powr trol on a R as the hyd pump is driven off the PTO.

Had an 820 with the R pto and hyd. unit on it once. There was some creative pto shaft and couplings needed made and welded up to make it adapt up inside.
