Its been a long time since I pulled pony motor off this tractor.You mentioned shims under it but I don't remember if there were any or not when I took it off.What would you think would be a starting point as far as thickness.I guess just start with a thin washer and go from there.Thanks for your input.Ron Sorry I'm referring to a 720

I am certainly not BLKSMOK, but you are welcome to look at this pic of my 70D. I found two U shaped shims.

I would try it without the shims as there is usually enough wear on the drive gear and ring gear that they will engage properly. The original shims are very thin.
