I see Shoup sells Baldwin Filters. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with the quality of the Baldwin filters?

I opened up the air cleaner on the 4450 I am working on. Wow, sure needs one of those. The JD Sale starts February 1 but I would just soon get it done.

Why do you care about the cost?
Doesn't the customer pay for it?
The same company might make them
all but doesn't mean they are the
same spec. I would check that.
I knew a guy that worked for a
company that made oil filters and
some were made cheaper than others
for different clients.

Thanks guys for the comments. I did some looking last night, the JD filters are only a couple dollars more and their sale starts February 1 so I am thinking I will just wait. I don't need to start that tractor for awhile yet anyway.

I have been using Shoup as a source and so far I have not been disappointed in quality as I have been with some other Ag Supply Houses. And delivery is phenomenal, it is always next day. I ordered a new cab roof, LED Lights, and a Left Hand mirror for the 4450, it was all here the very next day. Catalogs come the next day also. My point is if Shoup sells them my growing confidence in Shoup says they are OK.

I'm certain that at one time Baldwin made John Deere's oil filters. However I'm not certain that's true today.

Deere filter are made by fleetguard, well
most of them are at least. We had the
fleetguard people in looking at prototype
filters on a new engine design and we got
to talking about who make them. He grew up
and still helps on his family farm so when
he seen my hat he started talking to me. I
sure learned alot!

Unfortunately true though.

I would have thought Donaldson would be the source as they are 'Independent' of any competitor....
