anyone have experience with mitas or alliance tires

thinking about different rubber on my 820 2 banger 18.4 34 size, one tire dealer quoted me mitas for $640 each no tax and said they seem to be the best bang for your buck, different dealer quoted alliance tires for $475 each plus tax, and another dealer quoted me firestone sat 2 23 degree for 625 each or the same (i assume) alliance tire as the other guy for $525 he is going to price mitas for me monday, this dealer will have tax as well.

so it looks like now my cheapest option is the alliance tires with tax would be just over 1000 for a pair. are the firestones worth the extra $300? and i have heard something about sat's that there are 2 different versions, one with more bars or something? how does one tell those apart?

i just got the tractor this summer so not sure what all it will be used for, so far its mostly just sat in the shed, took it to a couple tractor pulls but my 720 whoops on it so i kinda lost interest in that for a while, i may take out the creeper first this winter and put in the regular 1st which should make it more competitive and i may pull it more if it is.

any other brands i should be inquiring about? ill probably put a wanted add on craigslist for used ones first but i think finding good used 18.4 34s for a reasonable price will be about like finding a hens tooth.

I put mitas radials on my combine 3 years ago and have been very happy and plan on putting new 18.4x42's on my 4650 soon. I know they are made in the USA and thats why I bought them not sure where Alliance is made. I bought new firestone radials a few years back and never again, most over rated useless ugly things I ever bought.

The 302O I just bought has alliance rear tires they seem to be pretty good I think they are foreign made

the Alliance tires that came on my 620 13.6x38 had all kinds of tread but weak on the side walls. I wasn't happy with them. Granted I didn't buy them & have them installed but the cracked & gave away on both tires on the side walls. Stated they were 6 ply. rated.

Five years ago I put two new Alliance 15.5 on my 720LP. one has gone flat twice to have a hole in the side wall and cannot fine anything that made the hole, also the grips look to be pulling off. I have water in the tires and 200# of weight on each side. The side walls have stress marks on them also. This tractor is in a shed when not in use. I will not buy Alliance tires again. My two pennies

ill have to check with local dealers but i see galaxy earth pro r-1 tires on eBay for $635 each delivered to my door. and i can get 2 crop max tires delivered to my door for $1240 for the pair. both are made overseas right?

just got a message from one of the dealers i talked with earlier, he had tread depths for 3 of the tires he priced me. mitas have 76/32", the Firestone's have 49/32", and the alliance have 37/32" and he can get the mitas for $650 each plus tax

I sold all 3 of these brands. Sat23 II are a cheaper tire. I only put on 1 or 2 sets of them on tractors that were being sold. I had Alliance on my main tractor used it for 6 years and could hardly see any wear on them. I never cared for the early Mitas. At the time I sold them they were made in Poland or some such country and had no warrenty. If you are having a problem with a Firestone warrenty I'd bet you have a dealer problem. Firestone went way out of their way to take care of any warrenty problems for us, no matter how large or small the problem. I sold them for 20+ years.
